Stop planning, start doing
Just start : )
This quote from Simon Sinek is simple but true -
“Dream Big. Start Small. But most of all, START!”
Throughout my life I’ve been lucky to develop the habit of chasing and acting on my ideas….but that wasn’t always the way I approached things. When I quit my corporate job 10 years ago to chase my love for songwriting, I had to go through the process of learning how to TAKE ACTION. It wasn’t necessarily in my nature to just think of an idea and chase it. I was more prone to having an idea and then thinking about it so much that I eventually would talk myself out of it. If it was a really good idea I would plan and plan and create some unnecessary steps like “I need a website” or “I need to make sure no one in the world has ever thought of this first.” I have finally come to realize that this was truly just procrastination out of fear.
Over the years I’ve come to realize that acting on your own ideas is one of the most liberating habits you can develop. It also helps you to grow your confidence and to figure out what makes you uniquely you. You start to realize that the things inside of you are actually valuable and worth pursuing. Not every idea is good, but the process of finding that out is still worth it. The harsh truth is that if you do the opposite, and keep these ideas inside of you, you start to doubt yourself and lose confidence in who you are. You lose your excitement towards life. I believe that we were all created to create in some form or fashion….and when we don’t do that we feel like we’re missing a part of ourselves.
All I am trying to do here is to encourage you to start taking action. To start creating. We spend so much time “consuming” that it’s stopping us from feeling the liberation of creating. It can help us to value ourselves. Our creations can help others too. You have ideas inside of you that no one else has….and it would be a shame if you kept them inside. Maybe just take a small little step towards that idea today. I believe in you….now you just need to believe in you : )

How did you know I needed this?! It’s uncanny! I’ve been “planning” for SO long! I keep thinking that there is so much out there, that my ideas couldn’t possibly appeal to anyone. But the real reason to create them is for ME! If they resonate with someone else, so much the better! Right?! There’s so much I could tell you, but thank you for this gift!
